"Ignorance is bliss."
Do you find this statement to be true?
**********************
There have been many times - specifically in my walk with God - where I would give up all the knowledge I've obtained, and all the experience I've gained, just to be back in the place where my devotion to God was based on His pure act of saving me.
I was 16 years-old when I came to know Christ. I was rather oblivious to the world around me but SO on fire for God and SO zealous!!! And those first couple years were the most amazing years of my life, because they were free of cynicism, and free of pride. I knew very little about theology and very little about doctrine- but the things I did know were enough to foster a deep love for my Lord.
Dear God, please humble me!

a dangerous prayer ;)
i agree though... to a degree. the bliss is usually jolted by some fact that you never knew and suddenly did know... but that somehow so changed your perception of things that you couldn't imagine not knowing it.
in some ways, bliss is ignorance.
or maybe just ignorance postponed.
true bliss though comes in utter faith in the Lord. and that pretty much sums it up.

You know, Miss Braica, I am continually encouraged, challenged and generally blessed by what you post on your blog.
Is ignorance bliss? I think so. The Bible even tells us that more knowledge equals more sorrow. But the bliss found in ignorance is so limited. Though we feel pain, sorrow, disgust, and other unhappy feelings as we learn more about this world, we also gain a deeper understanding of God's nature, the richness and depth of His love, and His burning desire for fellowship with His creation. If we don't grow in knowledge, we can't grow in our appreciation of God's adoration for us.
