My attempt to be proactive....

Lately you might have seen me walking around with a petition, asking for signatures... I've gotten a fair share of funny looks from my classmates. Basically, it's to prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage in Illinois. This effort (which is state-wide.... not something I came up with on my own LOL) is a fight to have a question on the ballot (at the next general elections) which will ask the voter if they define marriage as a union between a man and a woman ONLY. If enough people answer "yes", then our state should reconsider whether or not they would allow the recognition of same-sex marriage.

It seems fair, doesn't it??? To have a question like that on the ballot? Why do we have to fight so hard for our cause... to collect 300,000 signatures.... just to get the popular opinion?

Whatever. I'm really determined. If you haven't signed it already, SEE ME SOON!! :)
