love story

"...I asked Jesus 'how much do you love me?' and He stretched out His arms and died."

Every Sunday morning my father has a tradition of blasting praise music from the living room stereo in order to wake the whole family for church. This week, I was rather surprised when the house was awakened to the sound of Spanish music....as well as my father clapping his hands to the rhythm.

"Dad, why are we listening to spanish music????? On a sunday morning?! " I lazily shouted from my bed.

"The Fish [106.7] is having an all-spanish worship celebration today," he joyously replied (in his thick romanian accent)......

At first I was really impressed that my father could appreciate another culture's worship experience.... then, I was really confused as to why the Fish would do something like this.... and then the progression of my thoughts were manifested into uncontrollable laughter as I remembered someone saying that the Fish was no longer broadcasting because of insufficient funding... and that they were bought out by a secular spanish station........

Sweeeeeet

I'm 21!!! I'm 21!!! I'm 21!!!!!

And I couldn't think of a better birthday celebration than the one I had last night! My [extremely wonderful and thoughtful] friends threw a surprise party for me! AND WHAT A SURPRISE IT WAS!! I had no clue! It was soooo wonderful, that people came to the party even though so many of them had exams and papers due the next day.

WHAT A GLORIOUS EVENING IT WAS!!!

I am SO grateful for my cards and gifts....each one of them was special to me. But I must note that I received an extremely precious gift from the girls....

THEY GOT ME A KITTEN!! Can you believe that? He is absolutely perfect. In every way. I am completely and absolutely IN LOVE. I feel like he's my very own child.

Initially, he was named Charles Spurgeon (ahhh yes, the great theologian) but soon after he received the nickname "spurgy", we decided that wasn't very fitting for a creature such as he. So we renamed him "Titus".

Why has God blessed me with such incredible friends? That remains a mystery.....
But to finish, all I can say is,

All praise be to God.

Shout-out

HAPPY [belated] 20th BIRTHDAY DANEA DEPPERT!!!

You are simply one of the most beautiful and intelligent young ladies that I have come across in my college career.

I pray that the Lord would continue to reveal His truth to you in ways that would cause your faith to increase tenfold!

It makes my day when I see your bright smile every morning in Anatomy. Even though that class is getting more and more painful, you are getting more and more determined.

So, my dear sister, I hope you had a SPLENDID birthday weekend...

I wuv you!

Holla

So for some reason I have been thinking about my parents alot, and how super awesome they are. I want to send them a shout-out via my Blog...even though they probably won't ever read it. My mom doesn't even know what the internet is.

They are my role models. They have been married for over 30 years, and God keeps maturing and growing their love as the years go on. But even more, I respect them because of how hard they have worked in life.... how they flew to America 23 years ago, completely broke, and now they have accomplished the "american dream".

I love to hear stories of how they became believers, and how they met, and how they lived when they were newly-weds.... and then my dad has really wild stories about how he tried to escape Romania during communism only to run into danger.... some crazy stuff, dude.

But they immigrated for one reason: so that their children could live freely, and experience opportunity.

So I thank you mom and dad.

P.S.

Thanks C-dawg and Ash, for setting this up for me!

Heeeey

This is it! My first Blogspot entry! (and my first online journal entry, for that matter). I'm so excited.

You may be curious about the title of this page...I know, I know, it's a bit strange. But when I committed myself to keeping this ''journal'', i knew i could not neglect writing about the greatest love that I have ever known....

I cannot hold it in! I'm talking about the love of God! The unconditional, unadulterated, unbelievably awesome and perfect love of the Lord....granted to me despite my undeservedness...that has satisfied the very core of my existence.

"Jesus is awesome!" -Nikki Molinari

Amen, sister! Simply put!!!

As much as I love to write on this topic, I must go. My lab report is calling my name!! "Shavontay, you need to finish me!!"
